Who we are
Awakening Smiles Initiative started in the year 2011.
The year 2014 started with rather hardships yet it was the year Awakening Smiles Initiative (ASI) successfully registered as an NGO under registration no S.5914/11464 and was fully mandated by the government of the republic of Uganda to perform her duties as enshrined in her objectives of the constitution.
To this date, we report that the years after have providee a framework for our policies, growth priorities and the fight against object poverty in our district makes Awakening Smiles Initiative (ASI) relevant in Wakiso district. It is in line with other various sector priority interventions.
Awakening Smiles Initiative (ASI) derives its motive to further increase general community awareness, intensification of community mobilization campaigns.

Our Work.
Our organization is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and fighting against the sexual exploitation of women. We believe that every child and woman deserves to live a life free from poverty, abuse, and exploitation, and it is our mission to work towards this goal through a variety of programs and initiatives.
One of the main programs we offer is educational support for disadvantaged children. We understand that access to quality education is one of the key factors in breaking the cycle of poverty and helping children reach their full potential. Through our program, we provide tutoring, homework help, and other forms of educational support to children who may not have access to these resources otherwise.
In addition to educational support, we also provide a range of other services to disadvantaged children and their families. This includes access to healthcare, nutritious meals, and other basic necessities that are often taken for granted. We believe that by addressing these basic needs, we can create a foundation for children to thrive and succeed.

As part of our efforts to combat sexual exploitation, we also offer support and resources to women who have been victims of this abuse. This includes counseling, legal assistance, and other forms of support to help these women rebuild their lives and find safety and security.
In addition to our direct services, we also engage in advocacy and policy work to address the root causes of these issues and bring about long-term change. This includes working with governments, community organizations, and other stakeholders to implement policies and programs that support disadvantaged children and combat sexual exploitation.

As the Executive Director of Awakening Smiles Initiative, I am proud to lead an organization that is dedicated to the betterment of society's most vulnerable members. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children and women can receive education, healthcare, and opportunities for growth and development.

Our non profit organization is committed to advocating for and supporting disadvantaged children in our community. In addition to our work with children, we are also dedicated to fighting against the sexual exploitation of women and the spread of HIV.
